Invasive plants

Invasive periwinkle

Citizens in Stratford are making a concerted effort to improve our environment by planting native plants and removing invasive plants.

Invasive species escape Stratford home gardens onto public lands where they destroy native habitat, especially along the river, the tracks and T.J. Dolan trail.

Not all problem species are included in legislation restricting the sale of invasives. Many are still widely available in Ontario retail outlets. Know your plants!
