Bonnie Richardson
and Queensland

Two gardens, one stop

Two Stratford public gardens are on Queensland Road, a continuation of John Street South. Follow John Street South past Stratford General Hospital to a stop sign at Stratford and District Christian School. After a left turn onto Queensland, the Bonnie Richardson and Queensland Gardens are on the right.

There is ample parking in the area. If school is not in session, there may be parking on the grounds. The school grounds are attractively landscaped and well worth admiring, as well.

About the garden

Bonnie Richardson, who died in 2004, served as President of Stratford & District Horticultural Society. The garden was created as a bequest from her family.

An inviting bench has been placed between sheltering bushes. It’s a great spot to eat lunch, read a book or just sit and enjoy nature.

Did You Know?

Garden Stratford has been replacing invasive plants in all our public gardens to protect our natural environment. In 2025, in Queensland garden, we replaced burning bush, privet and Japanese barberry with native species.

A quiet oasis to enjoy

Bonnie Richardson and Queensland are two very pleasant gardens for quiet enjoyment. Volunteers from Garden Stratford maintain these gardens.
